Creating a social tile for your account is a simple process, all you need is an existing design in a layered file like InDesign or Figma.
The first step to creating a social tile template is to identify the elements in your design that will remain static and which elements will be dynamic. For example, if you were creating a tile for testimonials, you may have a standard border and logo for all testimonials, these items don't need to change from tile to tile, this means there static and can be provided by a single image with a transparent background. Dynamic elements are things like the testimonial excerpt that will change from tile to tile and can not be provided ahead of time. Items that will need to be dynamic are not needed as part of your static image so turn these layers off now.
The below examples illustrate the difference between static and dynamic elements. You can see on the right that the green border and logo will be the same on all tiles, you can see on the left in our finished design that the background image and excerpt will be unique. The image on the right also has a 30% grey transparent background, this has been added so that the background image will appear slightly darker and provide a greater contrast to allow the text to appear clearly.

Text Layer
In the above image on the right, the excerpt will be added to our tile by a new layer called a "Text Layer", a text layer allows you to define the positioning of dynamic text, you can set the font used, the position and many other attributes. Text layers allow you to map their value to data available in the content item used to create the final post.
Hero Image Layer
The background image shown in the image above is added using a "Hero" layer, this layer takes an image, resizes it to fit the dimensions provided, removes any white padding added by your CRM. You map the Hero layer to the image data source from your "Content Item".
You can add as many layers to your design as you need to complete it, a tile can be made up of many dynamic text elements, additional images and even text templates. Tiles are scope to content categories so you can have separate tile designs for each of your categories to improve the diversity of your social posts.
